University Of Leicester

We were initially engaged by the University of Leicester's Research Design Services department to build an online tool to manage several thousand on-going and historic research grant applications. The existing solution based on Microsoft Access suffered from many issues related to data quality, security and connectivity from multiple campus sites. 

Webfuel worked with the RDS department to analyse the requirements for the new system and built a secure online tool that replicated and enhanced the functionality provided by the existing solution. The new web based solution includes a number of new features including:

• Built in diagnostic tools and reporting that allocates data quality issue to individual users and thereby encourages data cleanup and data quality across the entire application
• A comprensive suite of reports with the ability for users to create and edit reports based on a simple reporting language syntax
• An application hosted within our secure data centre and secured online using HTTPS encryption.

RDS were so pleased with the work provided by Webfuel that they came back to us to quote for a design and rebuild of their ageing front end website. On winning this work Webfuel designed and built a clean and contemporary site with a comprehensive range of features including events, blog, diary, complex forms and all hosted within our easy to use content management system.
